The midnight street

A full moon lights up the night seemingly making the street light useless.

A number of taxis lineup the station. With engines running, the diesel stench hangs in the air like smoke in a windless day.

One cabbie smokes while another talks carelessly to a drunk. Another takes a quick nap, one reads a newspaper and the lead stares out to nothingness.

He seems to have lost interest in his surroundings, his customers and his business. I wonder what he is thinking about…

Everyone is dressed for the night, a non busy night. The cabbies each with his or her own taste, the street walkers and pedestrians in all sorts, besides some are going to work and others mostly home.

Most are just roaming about aimlessly, looking for a party to crash and Pete knows what else.
